Ammonites were sea creatures with spiral shells which lived and also became extinct at the same time as dinosaurs.

Dactylioceras Ammonites are one of the more common fossils (especially in Europe) and they are used to identify their period in Jurassic age rock.

This specimen is palm sized and has lovely ribs.

It is a lovely fossil to handle and would make a really great starter fossil
