Meet Sarcosuchus ... a giant prehistoric reptile probably twice the size of a modern saltwater crocodile AND it kept growing for its entire life
Although it is 'crocodile -like' it was actually a pholidosaur which are not directly related to modern crocodiles and there are no living descendents
In both males and females the long snout ended in a bulla (a sort of wide, lumpy bit) - no one is quite sure what its function was
It lived in fresh water and it is believed that it ate pretty much anything that that came its way from fish to unlucky dinosaurs, maybe even Spinosaurus
THIS is the species which has been called 'SUPER-CROC' so you should definitely have one in your collection
Fossils have been found in the Sahara, although during the Cretaceous period this area would have been nice and lush tropical vegetation criss crossed with rivers
Length 20cm
Height 4 cm
Width between front legs 6cm
