• Carpopenaeus Shrimp Fossil - Lebanon

Fossilisation is a rare event and that it happens at all is remarkable - that it is possible to get examples where more than one animal has been preserved is amazing.

This fossil is special because there are TWO shrimps preserved - with lots of details remaining to be seen on both creatures.

Block measures 6.5cm x 6.5cm

The shrimps are similar lengths - around 2.5cm long

Around 110 million years old - Lower Cretaceous period
