You've probably guessed by now ... that we have someone in the office who LOVES prehistoric sea creatures - and they've found another great one!
Mosasaurus was the first genus of prehistoric reptile to be named (the first fossil skeleton was found in 1764)
They were the stocky European relatives of the (slightly sleeker) of the American Tylosaurus and were very scary predators or the cretaceous seas ... they ate pretty much anything that came their way!
Remember, Sea reptile ... not Dinosaur!
