Ammonites were sea creatures with spiral shells which lived and also became extinct at the same time as dinosaurs.
This example of Perisphinctes is the largest ammonite we have at present.
It has a lovely ribbed texture on both sides of the fossil. measures approx 10cm x 9cm x 3cm (at the thickest part)
